This is the time of the year to give thanks for all the little and big things in your life. No matter where you are and what you’re doing, this joyous occasion gives us time to reflect on what we have. Usually during this special holiday, we will have a few days to spend time with friends, family and loved ones. Here are a few ideas on how to spend this holiday:

Thanksgiving Dinner

Having a traditional meal goes back to the pilgrims and Indians at Plymouth Rock in 1621.  Have a Friendsgiving celebration with a potluck to ease the burden of one friend cooking. Each friend can bring a designated dish to share. Having a meal together is the most Thanksgiving-ish thing to do on this day.

American Football

In the US, no Thanksgiving dinner is complete without watching some American football. Families across the country glue their eyes to the TV to watch some of the world’s best athletes play at the highest level. Pair this event up with chicken wings, chips, dips, nachos and more for an exciting afternoon.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade attracts more than 3.5 million spectators in New York City and over 50 million viewers worldwide. This iconic annual parade first started in 1924 and this will be the 93rd year! Whether you’re watching on TV or in the city, this parade is the hallmark to the start of the holiday season.

Travel

With a couple of days off from work or school, enjoy time off by exploring other cities or countries. Or even take this time to go back home and visit your family.
