Halloween Traditions –
All Hallows’ Eve
It’s that season again where candy, costumes and creepy scary
movies are embraced and celebrated. Traditionally celebrated on October 31st,
this holiday has been fully included in the American culture. It is a fun time for children as they get
chance to dress up as their favorite character(s) and go around getting their
fill of candy and for adults, it is a good time unleash your inner child. If
this is your first Halloween in the US, here are some activities or traditions
that you can take part in:
1. Boo! Watch A Scary Movie

Not everyone may be a fan of these movies but there are some that aren’t really scary and yet has all the spookiness that comes with Halloween. Some of these movies that you can watch are Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, The Nightmare Before Christmas and many more. 2. Costume Party
One of the best ways to move into American culture is to get involved in school activities. At this time of the year, many schools tend to have Halloween themed parties that allow students to dress up or create their best costumes and have some fun before finals. Check around your school to see if there are any and go for it, even if you aren’t dressed up.
3. Haunted Houses Events
Dark rooms filled with scary figures that may or may not jump out at you–this is one way to be embrace the fear and fright that comes with this festival. It is always best to go with a group of friends so that you have that someone to hold on to just in case you get a little extra scared. Attractions such as this are all in good fun and at the end of it; you will have a good laugh and maybe a scream or two.
